The christian school

Liliana.

The Richard Wurmbrand Christian Academy was born out of the vision of one woman who was greatly influenced by the sacrificial lives of Pastor Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand. Liliana Romaniuc was an educator, a Romanian, and a Christian. She was the first person who dared to think about having a Christian school the city of Iasi, Romania. A few years after the fall of communism in Romania in 1989, Liliana and a small group of dedicated, Christian teachers started meeting together with the idea of opening a Christian school in Iasi, Romania. For three years they prayed and sought God's direction and provision as they began to design a philosophy of education for a Christian school in the context of their Romanian culture. As a result, the Richard Wurmbrand Christian Academy was founded in September of 1995.

We have some people who give £10 per month to help pay for the tuition, school fees, a midday meal and books etc.

You can give any amount through JARS but giving the following will help the specific areas mentioned:
Sponsorship for a needy student

If you would like to help by sponsoring the school, then Email J.A.R.S. requesting more information. To give a one off gift, send a cheque to the address on the home page. If you can gift aid that gift, ask for a gift aid form.

Recently Liliana sent us an email with some good news about the school. I have put it below so you can read her words of joy.

Dear friends,

I want to let you all know that the Ministry of Education made the final decision regarding RWCS accreditation. I just received and saw the document which says that RWCS is forever and irrevocable accredited! Hallelujah!!! We are all thankful to God and to all of you for being with us, supporting us and encouraging us. My words can't express the gratitude and appreciation for your faithfulness in my work, in our work over the last 14 years. God has rewarded us with this wonderful gift! Nothing from what we do for Him doesn't remain unrewarded...It's all about trusting Him in every little thing...and being dependent on Him! This is my testimony and experience of the last 14 years! May God bless you all in what you do for His ministry!

Sincerely, Liliana.

Liliana is grateful for the help we have given over the years, and appreciates the monthly donations of our regular givers.

Dear friends,

I'd like to thank you all for your support, prayers and encouragement over the years. This has meant a lot for us and for the ministry! Your heart and dedication helped me in many situations to move on and to not give up. I've seen God's miracles day by day and year by year and I'm convinced that He will guide and protect us every day as we are following his commends.

As some of you might know, last Friday we went to Bucharest and sang carols for our president. Our students were like angels in that place. The president was very impressed and at the end of the program he kindly asked our students to sing one more time on his behalf for his staff and for all the people who were there. He also invited us to come back next year and sing for him and the presidential administration. Thank you for your prayers! I'm emailing you a few pictures taken at Cotroceni - the presidential palace, to share together the joy of being light and salt in Romania and wherever we are called to serve our Lord. Our hope and prayer is that one day Romania will have a Christian president graduating our school. This is part of our vision...

Sincerely in Christ,
Liliana.

Over Christmas 2007, some of the students were invited to sing carols for Traian Basescu, the Romanian president, as you can see in the letter above.

The whole thrust of the School is to spread the Good News of Christ, and over the years God has blessed them in so many ways. Liliana's latest news included the fact that she has been asked to be part of a national committee for education, an honour she described as a “reward”.

Please continue to pray for the School as it grows and branches out, and becomes more and more a witness for Christ, and salt and light in Romanian educational circles.
